Kids Will Truly Believe When Santa Writes Back

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Postal Service is helping keep the enchantment of Santa Claus alive with its “Letters From Santa” program. “Letters From Santa” allows a parent, grandparent or any person in a child’s life to mail a letter to their child “From Santa,” postmarked from the North Pole.

Here’s how “Letters From Santa” works:
1. Write a letter to your child from Santa Claus and sign it “From Santa.”
2. Insert the letter into an envelope addressed to your child with the return address:

SANTA, NORTH POLE.

3. Ensure a First-Class Mail stamp is affixed to the envelope.
4. Place the envelope into a larger envelope, with appropriate postage, and address the larger envelope to:

NORTH POLE POSTMARK

POSTMASTER

4141 POSTMARK DR

ANCHORAGE AK 99530-9998

5. Your letter “From Santa” will be mailed back to your child, postmarked from the North Pole.

“Letters From Santa” must be mailed to the Anchorage, AK, postmaster no later than Dec. 10, 2012. Santa’s helpers in Anchorage will take care of the rest.

The personalized letters that parents send to their children via the “Letters From Santa” program is different from the historical “Operation Santa” program. In “Operation Santa,” the Postal Service facilitates the matching of customers with letters written to Santa from needy children. Participants in “Operation Santa” help fulfill a child’s dream with a gift and a response letter from Santa. (Customers are not provided the child’s address in the “Operation Santa” program.) The “Letters From Santa” program helps parents fulfill the dreams of their own children.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.

I've been doing this for my kids since their very 1st Christmas and have all the letters saved in their baby books for when they grow up. It makes Christmas a lot more magical. :)

State Testing and a letter of encouragement

State Testing CCSS SBAC is starting next week for our area. This semester, my son's fourth grade teacher has asked that I write him a letter of encouragement. She gave us a few weeks notice. I have, in the past few days, written a few handwritten notes of encouragement. Then, I would wake up the next day realizing that it was not loving enough and second guessing myself. This task has been a little hard for me. Then, the final email reminder came from the teacher. It read as follow: "This is just a friendly reminder to please send a letter of encouragement to your student to be opened this coming Monday, May 1. Students will be given the letters prior to taking their first test." Oh my goodness, I have to get it done!!! So, I put on my big girl pants and re-wrote the letter for the 5th time. Learn how to make a California Mission Model at home or in the classroom. We made this project as part of the California Public School Fourth grade requirement in a group setting. Continue to read on to get the supply list and instructions for a successful mission model. On an ordinary day, I was reminded how amazing kids really are when there are no limits. Just as equally amazing are the teachers who guide them and teach them everyday. I am very thankful for the opportunity that I was given as a parent volunteer. The day was like a beautiful dance where parents, teachers and students came together for a common goal. Field Trip to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament - Buena Park

My family and I were invited to Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament for an afternoon of entertainment. I want to tell you about our journey into the Middle Ages via Medieval Times. It began at the will-call window with the kind clerk suggesting we visit their museum for a small fee. We said yes immediately to exploring their Middle Ages Museum called “The Museum of Torture”. It sounded interesting and educational to see Medieval exhibits. As we headed to the museum, a women dressed in traditional Middle Ages attire adorned all of us with blue crowns. We were assigned Don Alberto Del Mau as our Knight for the tournament. This meant we would have to cheer and support our Knight into battle. Don Alberto Del Mau is a young squire who is renowned as a champion of the defenseless. Armed with this knowledge, we set out to visit the Museum of Torture.
