12 ways to save this summer

Summer is here! What will you do this summer? Deals and coupons may help you do more with your loved ones this year. In this post, I will share with you websites, fast-food restaurants and public places where you may find great deals and coupons. Every summer these places host different deals and offers. It is important to check with the retailer or source before planning your field trip/travel plans. Originally written in 2013 and updated June 2015.

(1.) My library offers a small section where they place coupons for buy one get one free deals or free offers. I have often found them helpful during the summer months.  Some libraries hold these offers behind the counter. You may have to ask a librarian about offers they are currently offering. (Discounts to the local Fair, Local food chains, free food and free pintable’s.)

(2.) Follow Field Trip Mom on Facebook for updates on deals and coupons to local farms, restaurants and malls. https://www.facebook.com/FieldtripmomFTM

(3.) McDonald’s is offering a discount coupon towards the purchase of Knott's Berry farm tickets and Soak City 2015. You may also find more coupons and discounts on Knott’s Berry Farm website. 
(4.) Wendy’s Restaurant is currently offering a free child ticket with paid adult ticket to LEGOLAND California Resort or Sea Life. You must redeem the coupon through online purchase LEGOLAND.com/LLCWendys2015 use coupon code: 15016.

(5.) Costco offers discounts on themed parks and eating out as well as local events. They are sold as gift cards and family packs. Don’t see them in your area? Ask the customer service desk for specific store details. In my area, my Costco offers tickets to the Laguna Sawdust Festival at a discount.

(6.) Universal Studios –Current offer is buy one-day admission ticket and get the rest of 2015 free along with membership privileges. For more information visit their website: http://www.universalstudioshollywood.com/tickets/

(7.) Find great deals and coupons with Retail Me Not an online site that posts coupon recommendations.  Personally, it has saved me money at the theatre, Kohl’s and other retail shops.
  
(8.) Annual passes to local places is always a great idea. Buy an annual pass to Discovery Science Center and save the entire year. *Check their website for the latest.

(9.) The Entertainment Book for your neighborhood. The book offers many two for one deals as well as discounts for travel. Best deals on travel can be found on this inexpensive book. https://shop.entertainment.com/

(10.)  (AAA) Automobile club of SouthernCalifornia offers 25% discount to Aquarium of the Pacific and other great places.

(11.) Search Engines: Yahoo, Google and Bing can be very helpful in locating a great deal. Keep words to use are Coupon, Discount, Buy one get one offer, offers and deals along with the name of the place you would like to visit.

(12.) Check the website of the place you are planning on visiting. Often, the amusement park, will share deals and coupons are right on their own website. For example Pacific Park in Santa Monica offers 15% off their price. All you have to do is print and show the coupon at the counter.  http://www.pacpark.com/discounts.php?location=discounts
