Knotts Berry Farm’s Giveaway first ever Spring Fling!!!

Knotts Berry Farm’s first ever Spring Fling is coming  March 23 through April 7, 2013

Knott's Berry Farm is one of the best Amusement Parks in Southern California per the Orange County Register 2012.  Known as the first theme park in Orange County, Knott's Berry Farm continues to surprise us with fun events like the upcoming "Spring Fling". The event promises to be the hit of the Spring Season for all ages. There is something for everyone and every age. I personally always enjoy the educational shows that Knott's Berry Farm has to offer. They are educational to me, because they bring history to life. They are the following:

  1. Native American Dancers - Hoop Dance ( a form of Native American Storytelling)
  2. Cowboy Antics - Costumes and character bring to life the wild west cowboy personalities.
  3. Mystery Lodge - Captures the spirit of the Native American's
  4. Marshall Purdy - A fun show to make you smile,
  5. Fool's Gold Stunt Show - This is a fun and funny show to share with the kids.

Knott's will  be hosting the following events on March 23rd with your paid admission:
  • The Search for the Easter Beagle will have kids (3-11) scurrying across the park to find images of the famous beagle. All participants who complete the quest have a chance to win egg-mazing giveaways.
  • Peanuts characters are doing in “Peanut’s Party in the Park,” a new interactive live show located in Charleston Circle.  This musical revue includes some of today’s top ten tunes that will have the whole family singing along.
  • The Big Boardwalk Board Games that is.  It’s family game night to the extreme as everyone becomes oversized game pieces in some of their favorite board games. From dominoes to tick-tack-toe – it’s game on!
  •  At the Grande 3-D Art Show at the Silver Bullet midway, guests can step into life-size drawings of some of nature’s most beautiful spring scenery for priceless photo opportunities.  The park will also be filled with giant interactive displays that scream “spring!
  • For all those who get into art, Knott’s invites you to do so, literally.  At the Grande 3-D Art Show at the Silver Bullet midway, guests can step into life-size drawings of some of nature’s most beautiful spring scenery for priceless photo opportunities.  The park will also be filled with giant interactive displays that scream “spring!
  • Knott’s Towering Topiary Gardens located in Wilderness Dance Hall will offering fresh food and international beverages for an additional fee.

How to make a California Mission Model.

Learn how to make a California Mission Model at home or in the classroom. We made this project as part of the California Public School Fourth grade requirement in a group setting. Continue to read on to get the supply list and instructions for a successful mission model. On an ordinary day, I was reminded how amazing kids really are when there are no limits. Just as equally amazing are the teachers who guide them and teach them everyday.  I am very thankful for the opportunity that I was given as a parent volunteer.  The day was like a beautiful dance where parents, teachers and students came together for a common goal. The goal was to make models of California Missions from a simple picture and lots of cardboard.  I can honestly say the goal was reached and everyone deserved an "A".

State Testing and a letter of encouragement

State Testing CCSS SBAC is starting next week for our area.  This semester, my son's fourth grade teacher has asked that I write him a letter of encouragement.  She gave us a few weeks notice. I have, in the past few days, written a few handwritten notes of encouragement. Then, I would wake up the next day realizing that it was not loving enough and second guessing myself. This task has been a little hard for me.  Then, the final email reminder came from the teacher. It read as follow: "This is just a friendly reminder to please send a letter of encouragement to your student to be opened this coming Monday, May 1. Students will be given the letters prior to taking their first test."  Oh my goodness, I have to get it done!!! So, I put on my big girl pants and re-wrote the letter for the 5th time. This time, I made it classroom friendly and left out lots of the I love you's and all the mushy stuff I had written before. The letter went something like this:  Dea
