Knotts Berry Farm - Top 10 Reasons to Visit the Newly Expanded Rides and Attractions at the Boardwalk

Knott's Berry Farm announces it's newly expanded Boardwalk themed area with more rides and attractions. Opening Memorial Weekend May 25th, 2013, Knott's continues to provide family fun entertainment by expanding the Boardwalk. This expansion allows for an even broader catalog of rides to it's already dynamic park. I recently visited the amusement park to see firsthand all of the new changes scheduled to open this summer and can provide you with the top ten reasons why you need to visit Knott's.

1.  Coast Rider - The 52 foot ascent to the top of Coast Rider will have everyone clinging to the handrails for the ultimate family coaster experience. The adventure aboard the ride gives guests the feeling of riding the California coast, but once they reach the crest, it is a harrowing journey down the 1,339 feet of track filled with hairpin turns, twists and spins.  New to the Boardwalk and opening soon this summer.
 2.  Surfside Glider - Taking the ride into their own hands, guests will pilot their own Surfside Glider.  From a height of 28 feet, these two-man aircraft zip through the air providing a bird’s eye view of the Boardwalk area as they glide over Boardwalk Bay.  Surfside Glider will also open this summer.

3.  Pacific Scrambler-Everyone will be caught in the spin of the Pacific Scrambler, a family favorite and traditional Boardwalk attraction.

4.  Newly Remodeled Timber Mountain Log Ride - Construction continues as this revitalization project will include restoring classic scenes, upgrading ride figures and sets as well as adding new scenes and characters to enhance the ride experience while still maintaining the original theme and storyline of the attraction.  See more about this exciting remodel in the video below.  The Log Ride is scheduled to reopen Summer 2013.  As for the Field Trip Mom family, we can't wait to be first on the restored Timber Mountain Log Ride.
5.  Charles Schulz Theatre - “Snoopy…..Unleashed!” - Snoopy is off the chain and ready for action – going where he wants to go, doing what he wants to do in a way that only Snoopy can.  This spectacular ice skating production includes the Peanuts characters, professional ice skaters, elaborate sets and music that will have you singing along.
6.  New this summer is “Boom Town” - Where the Wild West, at the peak of the Gold Rush, becomes a Cirque performance that really strikes it rich. A cast of nine amazing acrobats brings to life what it was like to live in the small town of Calico in the 1860s. You’ll be inspired to pick up your picks and pans and hop in an ore cart and come along for the ride!
7.  “Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular” - Returns for its fourth season and is bigger and brighter than ever.  When darkness falls over Knott’s Berry Farm, Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular brings Camp Snoopy to life with a continuous light show filled with PEANUTS’ figures, themed music, sound effects, and colorful projections.

8.  “Hooray for Hollywood” - Tells the story of the PEANUTS® Gang as they try to make it big in Tinseltown.  Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, and their friend JT pay homage to the golden days of Hollywood in a show that’s sure to delight kids of all ages.

9. Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant - a Field Trip Mom family favorite, this classic icon serves famous fried chicken, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls and the mouth-watering Boysenberry Pie! The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, including a weekend brunch and holiday take home meals to save time in the kitchen. Too tired to cook, the restaurant offers TO GO counter that allows you to take this succulent meal home for the family after a busy day at school and the office.

10. Season Passes -To take advantage of all the new offerings and experience all of Knott’s Farm Fresh Fun, the park is selling 2013 Season Passes for only $72.00 or 6 easy payments of $12.00 for a limited time. As a Season Pass holder guests receive:

Enter to win (2) Adult tickets and (2) child's tickets to the "Dutch Queen's Day" in Los Angeles.

Sunday April 28th, 2013 the Home Depot Center is hosting a great cultural event. It is hosting the "Dutch Queen's Day". Tickets are $10; kids 12 of age and under are free. Complimentary parking is available.

The location of the Orange Village will be The Home Depot Center in Carson (stadium, sport facilities and home of the the Galaxy Soccer Team).
Address: The Home Depot Center, 18400 Avalon Boulevard, Carson CA 90746.

**“Queen’s Day is a fun event to teach children about their heritage and another culture in a fun way,” says Jeff Keasberry, organizer of the United Netherlands Organizations. “As the United States is celebrating National Princess Week, why not come together as an international community and celebrate real royalty as we’re at it?”

Many Americans find their heritage in Europe and most of us are quite aware where our ancestors come from. Whether they came from the Netherlands, Great Britain, Sweden or Belgium, all these countries still today, have royal families. In the Netherlands, they even have three little princesses: Princess Amelia, Princess Alexia and Princess Ariana.

This year will be the last Queen’s Day because it’s the last year of Queen Beatrix’s reign. She will abdicate her reign to her son Willem-Alexander, who will be the Dutch King, along with Princess Maxima. Both will start their reign on April 30, so Queen’s Day 2013 really is a farewell to the outgoing Queen."

Community Yard Sale - #Tustin, CA

Community Yard sales are great for several reasons. The first reason is to clean and clear out your house of unused items, while making some money. Second reason is that you are able to find great items at a low price. Third reason is that you are helping the environment by recycling items.
  1. Keeping a house clean requires getting rid of items not used or just taking up space. De-cluttering allows for your home to be more relaxing and inviting. For this reason yards sales are excellent. You make a little money for your unwanted items and your house stays clean.
  2. One person's junk is another person's treasure. Buying at local yard sales you may find that it can be like looking for treasures. You may find things that you need in great condition for a low price. This may help you stay on budget and still have fun decorative items in your home. Yard sales can save you money on household items and toys.
  3. Buying at a yard sale can help save items from ending up at a dump. Recycling and re-purposing is a great way to help our Earth.
Finally yard sales bring the community together and allow you to meet your neighbors. The city next to ours is hosting a giant city yard sale this coming weekend. I hope you are able to attend. See you Saturday.

The Community of Tustin is hosting a yard sale this Saturday, April 20th, 2013

8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Discovery Science Center - Bubblefest

Discovery Science Center is hosting Bubblefest until April 14th. Bubblefest is a very entertaining event for all to see.  This event has hands on experiments that bring life to bubbles.  Experiments include "The Sheet of Bubbles", which placed a pole in a tub of bubble solution.  When you pulled the rope, a bubble sheet is created between the pole and the solution.  This experiment shows the effects of placing your hand on the bubble.  By placing a wet hand on the bubble, one can put it through the bubble sheet without breaking it.  Another experiment had a tray with bubble solution allowing you to create multiple bubbles that were linked together by blowing through a straw.  The kids really enjoyed the creative processes in these experiments.

Bubblefest made everyone in my family smile and they had a great time playing.  Everywhere you went, there were bubbles being created.  In this picture, my husband is reliving his childhood by making a giant bubble.  Our kids are thrilled to see their dad make this giant bubble and captivated waiting for their turn to try to make their own.  This was a very proud moment when I was able to capture this amazing photo before his bubble popped.  Hands on exploration of bubble solution was great for the kids to experience.

DownEast Basics

DownEast Basics tees are my favorite. I use them almost everyday. They go well under your sheer blouses or can be under a sweater to make a complete outfit. The basic Tee comes in different styles and colors. They just got a new colors in time for spring. I picked up the basic colors, red, blue and black.

The store carries classic styles with timeless pieces like this polka dot blouse. It is great for the spring season. This blouse can go with a nice pair of jeans or fun skirt. But it is a must for your closet, if you like classic pieces of clothing. There is so many more styles in-store and online at Down East Basics. There is even great sales if you sign-up for their email mails.

DownEast Basics

The other great piece I found was this Navy Blue Lace blouse with buttons. It is very loose and comfortable. It comes in large sizes and others colors. The fabric on this blouse is soft and very comfortable. That is the reason I enjoy the clothing is the fabric and cut of the garments. They are so very well made. I own blouses that have kept their shape and wash well, which I purchased at this store.  So it was money well spent.

DownEast Basics was held a Bloggers shopping evening. Some of the most popular ladies from Southern California attended this event. Here is Jill Parkin, Jamie Gall, Erin Miller and Marcie Taylor saying hello. It was a great night of shopping and friendships.  (It is always nice to shop with friends.) Happy Shopping!

Disclaimer: All opinions and thoughts are my own. This is a sponsored post. I was provided a $25.00 gift card to the store. This did not influence my opinion or my post. I really do wear their clothing. :)

#ACU-LIFE True Easy Syringe Review - BPA Free

A few weeks ago, I was asked to review the True Easy Syringe by #Acu-Life.  When I said yes to the review, I thought that it would be great for an emergency travel kit.   If you have to give medicine to kids, you know how tough it can be.  Those syringes from the local pharmacy are difficult to gauge the appropriate amount and dependent on your child's weight can be dangerous to their health as a result of over medicating.  There is no room for error when giving medicine to a child.  Giving the correct dose to a sick child is a must and with the #Acu-Life True Easy Syringe, it is the easiest way ever.  For this reason it made sense to add it to my emergency travel kit as this medicine syringe takes the guess work or worry out of giving your child the need dosage.  This week, I was reminded how important it is to be aware of our health.  Both my son and my mom needed medical attention and both of them require oral medication with a precision amount of medicine.  What seemed like a great product for travel emergency became immediately necessary.  We are struggling through the illnesses but hanging in there with the help of this truly helpful tool.  I was really glad that I had this in my emergency kit for my family.  This product is very inexpensive, around $4.99, and is sold at your local Walgreen's and CVS.

Want more information on this truly incredible childs' medicine syringe, see the video below.

Disclaimer: I was not paid for my thoughts or opinions. I received one True Easy Syringe for review. All thoughts and opinions are all my own.
